Design, It’s In The Details. . .

Today we had the opportunity to spend the afternoon at the newly finished West Palm Beach Downtown Waterfront, and in a word, Wow.  Even on this cool day the entire area was filled with people exploring and enjoying the space while never feeling crowded.  Micheal Singer’s handiwork is evident in the water-features, shade structures, seating areas, natural plantings and inviting pathways.   Each one of the water-features is unique, encouraging visitors to visit all of them.

The walkways vary from broad esplanades to winding gravel paths with comfortable seating areas scattered through out the park, each offering a unique view of the water and park.

Public spaces for art and entertainment events are provided by a large pavilion and stage area as well as smaller structures.

Attention to detail extends to the basic amenities as well with attractive public restrooms, trash and recycling receptacles.  Four legged visitors will find 100% biodegradable doggie waste bags as well as their own spot at the water fountain.

The innovative design of West Palm Beach’s Waterfront Park embodies the thought and care that is required to make Lake Worth’s beach property (and other parks) attractive to residents as well as draw visitors.
