Last night’s Taste Of Lake Worth sponsored by the Kiwanis left one hungry for more. After purchasing a yellow wristband for $20 participants strolled Lake and Lucerne stopping at various restaurants to sample their food and drink. With the downtown streets closed for the Street-Painting Festival and a great band playing on J street, the atmosphere was upbeat and people were dancing in the streets.
The concept of a Taste Of Lake Worth is sound and a few participating restaurants and bars “got it” offering an ample sampling of their best fare. Yet others, including the new pizza place on J and Lake, gave out miserly portions of mediocre food, obviously missing the point of attracting the crowd to dine with them in the future.
Last night was a good start, and if more restaurants participate and embrace the advertising potential of A Taste Of Lake Worth, we really will have something to look forward to next year.
A sampling:
L’Anjou got it! Good food, drink and host. We’ll be back.
Little Munich, great food, no utensils resulted in potato salad shooters.
Brogues, close to the mark with fish and shepard pie samples with a lovely hostess.
The Cottage, got it right with entertaining bartenders mixing tropical drinks.
South Shores, need we say more?

The band on J street had kids and adults dancing in the street.
There were more and they all fell somewhere between the best and the worse, none of them standing out from the crowd.
